decided on paint and colour

I’ve had a good think and finally decided on colour and paint. I really like the photoshop mocks in blue, although I’ve had a lot of advice to stay with bright pastels or white due to heat expansion.

So I’ve been hedging toward staying with the safe bet white, it makes a lot of sense. Perdita is currently white, it won’t show the imperfections as much (there are a few) and I won’t have summer heat cracking. It’ll also be so much easier to paint white on top of white.

So I’ve decided to go with ‘Snow White’produced by International. I’ve chosen their ‘Toplac’ paint that I’ll roll and tip on one side at a time. Before paint, she’ll get a coating of Interprotect 2 pack epoxy primer.

It’s not cheap stuff, so I’m hoping it covers well… reckon I’ll get through a good couple of litres per side unless I thin it. (£40 a litre)

The hull below the waterline will get some grey anti fouling paint.

The deck is going to have a small outlined grey around the stanchions and white Sandtex grip paint everywhere else.

There’s loads of work to do yet before painting and we’ll be making a grey cockpit canopy too.

Thanks for looking
